About Gretchen Wieman Fauske

“What would happen if we studied what is right with people versus what is wrong with people?”

These words by Don Clifton launched my coaching journey, and still give me a thrill of delight when I read them! Isn’t it liberating to discover that you can excel by maximizing your Strengths, not by fixing your weaknesses?

I help clients tap into their potential, both personally and professionally, and am most impactful when working with someone making a decision or going through a period of transition. Common topics during coaching sessions include defining success, energy gains v. energy drains, and exploring the concept of shine theory. I also focus on Gallup’s BP10, and love to work with Builders!

A marketing minded economic developer fueled by a passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and small business, I’m the associate director for the University of Alaska Center for Economic Development. I’ve worked on a number of award-winning economic development projects, spoken at TEDx Anchorage, and was named to Alaska’s “Top 40 Under 40” in 2013.

Along with my coaching certification from Gallup, I’ve also earned my “Foundations in Design Thinking” certification from IDEO and hold a Bachelor of Arts from Whitman College in English Literature. I serve on the boards of multiple organizations and am committed to building a bright future for the state of Alaska!
