Alexa Harris

Dr. Alexa A. Harris is a Communications Consultant with a myriad of experiences in academic, corporate, and creative industries.

While completing her doctoral research focused on Intercultural Communication and Millennials, Dr. Harris taught public speaking courses to diverse undergraduate students with Liberal Arts and Science majors. She especially took delight in providing extensive individual and group coaching for improved performances. Dr. Harris assisted her department with core-course curriculum management for Communication classes and worked closely with undergraduate and graduate students for advanced impression management and presentation skills.

In addition, Dr. Harris put her research into practice by working at a top management consulting firm where she developed communication campaigns including fact sheets, media training, and social media strategies for internal initiatives and government agencies. She conducted research to increase intellectual capital for the firm, and won awards for white papers and literature reviews for stakeholders, specifically on Multicultural Communications for Health, Energy, Environment and Transportation markets. Furthermore, Dr. Harris created interview and focus group guides for the firm's Socio-Cultural Development Center, completed Instructional Design for a course to help clients improve presentation strategies, and provided Strategic Communication, Planning, and Tactical Support to internal firm departments and clients. She has also worked closely with clients as an Independent Consultant to implement Marketing and Communication solutions for non-profit organizations, media production companies, health sector institutions, and e-commerce internet startups. Dr. Harris creates dashboards and assesses progress on HR best practices and key performance indicators (KPIs) that help clients increase productivity and decrease communication soft spots. Moreover, she presents and facilitates workshops on Branding, Conflict Management, Cross-Cultural Communication, Entrepreneurship, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, and other Professional Development topics.

Dr. Harris has also worked as a Producer and Coordinator for commercials, films, and television shows. Her roles required her to serve as the primary communications hub and liaison between crew and executives to ensure sensitive projects were completed on-time and on-budget.

Because of her diverse array of experiences in academic, corporate, and creative industries, Dr. Harris brings a unique toolkit of resources to connect with clients and strategize on ways to help them gain a greater awareness of their identity, improve interpersonal relationships, and increase work productivity.
