Dr. Mary Laurens M. Seely is the Data Coach Coordinator for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS). She has over 20 years of experience as an education professional, including serving as an education consultant for the Tennessee Department of Education, running the Hospital School Program at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, and serving as the business analyst for the MNPS Data Warehouse.
Mary Laurens completed her B.A. in Education at Millsaps College, her M.Ed. in Special Education at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, and her Ed.D. in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change at Lipscomb University.
Both diplomatic and authentic, Mary Laurens values diversity and enjoys robust conversations encouraging expansion of knowledge. Possessing a strong sense of humor regarding the challenges of daily life, she focuses on accessing one’s strengths to turn any situation into one from which something can be learned. She understands and appreciates the value of objective feedback and strives to enable those she encounters to recognize their unique potential and to challenge them to forge their own paths.
