About Lisa Lawler Colvin

Lisa Lawler Colvin is the Chief Learning Officer at the U.S. Economic Development Administration and has 18 years of Federal service including 3 years working on Capitol Hill in the Legislative Branch. She has also served as a certified Level II Contracting Officer Representative since 2006. Prior to working for EDA, Lisa spent 4 years serving as the Chief Learning Officer of the U.S. Census Bureau and spent several years working as a training administrator, an instructional designer, an e-Learning developer, an IT trainer, and a distance learning administrator. She is a certified Strengths Coach and Career Coach and a certified facilitator for the True Colors Key’s to Personal Success Leadership Development Program. In addition to training administration, she provides career coaching assistance including tips and techniques for leadership assessment, navigating your professional career, effective job search strategies, writing accomplishment statements, writing a Federal Resume, applying for USAJOBS, and practicing interview techniques that get you the job.  

She earned her Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Maryland College Park, her Master’s Certificate in IT Project Management from George Washington University, and completed her Master’s coursework in Instructional Design and Distance Learning at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.  

She resides in Waldorf, MD with her husband, step-daughter and 2 kitty cats.
