Dr. Niki T. Newman-Brown is a second year Continuous Improvement Specialist with Prince George’s County Public Schools. Prior to this role, she enjoyed a five year tenure as the principal of Mary Harris “Mother” Jones Elementary in Adelphi, MD. She received her B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and then her elementary and early childhood education certifications through Trinity University. After three years of teaching, she received her M.S. in Education Administration from Trinity University, Washington, DC. Dr. Newman-Brown completed her Doctorate of Education for Teaching and Learning and Education Administration at Walden University in 2016. Dr. Newman-Brown has spent almost 15 years in the field of public education. As an instructional leader she works diligently to build instructional leaders within her school district. She also serve as a mentor for aspiring assistant principals and principals. She aspires to continue educating and spreading awareness regarding the instructional needs of minority students. Dr. Newman-Brown currently resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland with her two dogs Missy and Lady. In her spare time, she serves as a yoga teacher and is currently working on her ERYT - 300 level certification.
