About Wesley Brooks

With my themes of relator and individualization, I deeply value relationships and the uniqueness of every person I interact with. As a professional educator with a Ph.D. in Higher Education with an emphasis in Leadership, assisting others in their personal and professional development is a deep passion of mine. My professional experience includes working in higher education for nearly 2 decades both outside the classroom and as a faculty member in leadership studies. Passions of mine include family, travel, sports activities, leadership development, assessment, and strategic planning. As a strengths coach, as described by Gallup, I wholeheartedly believe in "the philosophy that the strengths journey is not a linear process. It is a journey of infinite possibilities" and it's my role as the passenger in my client's journey to help them apply their talents as they see fit. In order to leverage those talents, it's important for people to know who they are and be self-aware. That's an important part of the journey and where I like to start the conversation. And in order to dig into those personal topics, trust is very important. Again, my relator and individualization themes push me to emphasize and establish trust with my clients. This journey and every step along the way is sacred and I know how fortunate I am to be a part of the process with those I coach. Through my own experiences in leadership, I understand and appreciate how an individual's behaviors, activities and relationships impact a team. And it's my goal to help my clients determine how strengths directly influences behaviors and ultimately team dynamics in their organization. We are typically conditioned to address our weaknesses and I've found it is much more exciting to play to my strengths. I want my clients to experience those same rewards and benefits. Playing to our strengths allows us to get the most of our life and I believe it is a Strengths Coach's role to help people intentionally develop and grow their talents into strengths.
