Viv Allanson: RGN, Mid, Ren, Dip Nurse Admin, MHSM, AFAIM, GAICD
Viv Allanson joined the aged care workforce in 1991 as DDON and has moved through DON and Executive DON Roles to her current position of CEO since 2000. As Maroba continues to grow Viv is all too familiar with the difficulties facing today’s leaders, whilst anticipating an exciting future ahead. Her commitment to growing leaders has never waned as she is always looking to add value to those in her sphere of influence.
A director on the ACS NSW & ACT Board since 2007 and President since 2012, also past Vice President of the ACSA Board. Viv has strong links with Hunter Businesses and has enjoyed a third term on the Hunter Business Chamber Board completing her service in Nov 2016. Viv is the 2015 recipient of the Hunter TAFE ‘Contribution to Business’ Award. In 2013 Viv accepted the role of Director on the International Association of Homes and Services for the Aged (IAHSA) Board and will present the International Aged Care and research awards in Switzerland in September.
Viv is the Aged Care rep on the Bachelor Nursing & Midwifery External Advisory Group for the University of Newcastle and more recently represented ACSA members on the Expert Advisory Group for the Spirituality in Aged Care National Guidelines project.
Viv was selected to be the recipient of a full scholarship to complete the ‘Prince of Wales Business and Sustainability Programme’ within the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership in March 2015, a unique opportunity that has further inspired her dedication to changing the world to be a better place for all humanity.
In Jan 2017 Viv was selected the APAC Business Insider 2016 Australian CEO of the year, in recognition of her innovation and dedication to her role. Viv was selected from across all business sectors and sizes.
Viv has over 40 years of Health, Aged Care and Leadership expertise and continues to raise up Leaders to join the charge to create more satisfying and exciting healthcare environments and workplaces.
