About Donna Barr

I LOVE people, and there is nothing that excites me more than bringing POSITIVE energy, recognizing potential and INSPIRING others to see what's powerful, good and unique about themselves. I am committed to supporting my clients in making their dreams or vision a reality. I help my clients, be empowered, be unstoppable and get results.

I possess a BS in Computer Science from Winston Salem State University, later receiving my MS degree in IT from John Hopkins University, while raising 3 children, working full time, and being active in my local church and community.

As an innovative leader and coach, I was known best for creating high performing strength based teams. I'm a certified PMP, and was consistently recognized for my positive attitude, passion, infectious enthusiasm and my ability to foster trusting relationships with my colleagues, teams, and clients. One of my greatest strengths is to recognize talent, and inspire action in others.

I bring a unique voice to leadership development and strengths coaching. I have spent nearly 2.5 decades, leading teams on the cutting edge of technology, creating and innovating in the federal and commercial space. My love and passion for leaders to be self-aware, and be seen for who they are really and fully use their potential to transform their lives and organizations, led me to found the Positive Deviant Group.

I believe that none of my formal education and professional experience, compares to the knowledge I gained on the powerful transformational journey of unleashing the Positive Deviant in me. In all of accomplishments, my greatest accomplishment is that of mother. I have 3 intelligent, handsome and productive adult sons, who are making their own mark, and have been the best part of my journey.
