About Melville Brooks

Melville is an experienced hand in the business of helping individuals perform well at work. He’s been a Learning & Development professional for about a decade and a half in a multicultural, international setting.

His strengths journey unconsciously began early in life as a schoolboy who understood that every individual is naturally talented in certain activities, be it sports, music, theater or academics. His conscious journey of exploring how strengths contribute to an individual and team performance began in late 2011 while working at a Fortune 500 company, when he was given a copy of Marcus Buckingham and Donald Clifton’s book, Now, Discover Your Strengths, by one of the business leaders there. What the book had to say fit perfectly well in to his philosophy for life, and from then on he has been gung ho about strengths philosophy, and that’s what led him to become a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach.

He leans on and leverages his strengths to lead a Learning & Development team that’s spread across multiple countries for a Multinational Organization. He’s a Management Graduate, a Cubiks-Certified Personality and Preference Inventory (PAPI™) Assessor & Coach, and a certified project manager (PRINCE2® Certified Practitioner).

As a coach and facilitator, Melville specializes in working with individuals and teams that work in a multicultural and diverse setting. He has coached and facilitated programs for individuals and teams from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, India, the Philippines, and Australia. He has worked with individuals and teams from diverse industries like Banking and Financial Services, Telecommunication, Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail, Hospitality, Media, Insurance, and Healthcare Insurance.

During the weekends he plays a game or two of field hockey with an amateur field hockey team that he jointly owns and coaches with a childhood friend.

He looks forward to getting coaching assignments where he can help individuals, leaders, teams, and organizations link their innate talents to specific goals and objectives, facilitate growth and development and boost engagement.
